FOUR . this blog is extremely low activity and runs primarily on a queue. there may be months in between activity and replies. i will often drop threads without notice, unless we know each other. i am a lawyer, and have tons of other priorities -- this blog is meant to be fun, not another job!

TRANSFORMATION . the transformation process is extremely long &* requires immense self control / restraint from the vampire. it is not done often. in order to be turned, a human must be fed on; blood lost is then replaced with the blood of the undead.

  • a newborn must feed on fresh human blood w/in 24hrs of transformation to complete the transition. if any of these steps are not met, the newborn will die of starvation and begin to bleed from the eyes, nose, and mouth.

newborn vampires are much stronger than any other kind of vampire because of the remnants of human blood in their system. they don't need to feed nearly as often as other vampires will, though they have extremely heightened senses and emotions.

  • newborns are slightly cold to the touch, which will fade as they age, and this change in temperature is barely noticeable to the average human.

  • vampires get stronger as they continue to age, and their emotions grow more dull over time.

VAMPIRE BLOOD . the act of direct blood sharing is extremely personal &* intimate, and vampires are able to trace those that have fed on them (for the period of time that their blood is in the system). that being said, many vampire donate their blood, as it is a highly desirable drug for humans.

VAMPIRE BLOOD CONT .

  • in small doses, symptoms can last for 3 / 4 hours: healing of non-lethal wounds, enhanced senses, minor hallucinations, increased libidos, etc.

  • in large doses, symptoms can last for 2 / 3 days at a time: sweating, fever, prolonged &* violent hallucinations, exhaustion, overstimulation, etc.

it is nearly impossible to overdone on vampire blood, despite its highly addictive nature. in my universe, there have only been 3 cases of overdose, all of which have been the result of draining multiple vampires at once. humans are far more likely to experience extremely severe symptoms of withdrawal than actual overdose.

AFTERLIFE . the vampire appearance consistently changes, depending on their levels of hunger and emotional stress.

  • when vampires are hungry, their eye colour changes to black.

  • when vampires overindulge in blood, their irises turn red

AFTERLIFE CONT .

  • during times of high stress / emotion (when feeding, angry, sad, etc.), veins appear underneath their eyes

vampires wear lapus lazuli rings, enchanted by a witch, in order to walk amongst the living during the day. they do not have heartbeats, nor do they need to breathe or sleep. vampires are incapable of eating human food without additional witchcraft remedies. they are capable of tasting food, but their taste buds are extremely muted. vampires can cry, but they excrete blood instead of tears.vampires cannot enter a household without an invitation from the lawful owner. a vampire can be uninvited at an time. if a vampire remains in a household without an invitation, they begin to bleed from the eyes &* nose, and they are slowly dragged to the threshold of the property against their will.vampires do not have to follow every order given by their maker in a sire bond, but instead feel extreme loyalty. newborns still have their own free will, and are able to make their own decisions.vampires can live through a decapitation. their head can either be reattached, or it will regrow after a few weeks. vampires are extremely disgusted by the scent of werewolves, but can get used to it with exposure / time.
